Under DNS primary and alternate I recommend either Google's DNS servers or Cloudflare's new DNS servers. Now enter the subnet mask and default gateway. Example: If your current IP address is 192.168.1.1 you can change the last number to anything from 1-254 but it needs to be different than the current one and not the same as any other IP on your network. Head back to our IP config we were working on and under IP address create a new one by changing the last part of your current IP address. I recommend some other DNS servers (more on that in a moment) but write down your current DNS servers as well just in case. A lot of information will show up you want to find your WIFI connection in the list and write down your IPV4 address, subnet mask, and default gateway. Now don't close anything and open up command prompt with start type cmd right click it and choose run as administrator (always best practice) Type into the new black box that pops up "ipconfig /all" without the quotes. Click "use the following IP address" rather than Obtain automatically. Then choose IPV4 (internet protocol version 4) and again choose properties. Once there click "Network and internet" and then "Network and sharing center." Inside here you will want to click on your WIFI connection and choose properties.

There are several ways to do so but since I am on Windows 10 I just type it into the start search bar after pressing the "windows" key.
Step 1: Setting up a static IP address. Here is my video guide for Port Forwarding correctly but this write up should also serve you well. If you are playing Destiny 2 and your NAT status shows as "strict" or "moderate" your connection is not ideal and this especially affects multiplayer matchmaking as Destiny 2 does not use dedicated servers. Port Forwarding is the process of opening ports that Destiny 2 requires to maintain a proper and ideal connection. I'm currently a Destiny 2 PC player but this guide should work for anyone trying to get a perfect OPEN NAT status in the game.
